4 New Restaurants In Khan Market For That Special Dinner
Khan you taste the food already? The Big Chill. Bahrisons Book Shop, Anokhi and street jewellery are just some of the reasons Khan Market is so popular amongst Delhi peeps, expats and tourists alike. This versatile market is also home to some of the best eateries in town. Today we're taking a quick look at the relatively new restaurants in Khan Market. Where are you taking us for dinner?
Anglow
Positioned as a whisky bar, Anglow immerses you in class and luxury from the minute you step inside. A swanky well-stocked bar (manned by expert bartenders), cosy corners with plush sofas, extravagant wallpaper, old school wooden interiors and walls adorned with art give juxtaposed with a checkered floor gives this restaurant a very timeless look. Some of the art is very a la Alice in Wonderland, if you get what we mean.
When it comes to the menu, as the name suggests, the dishes are a melange of Indian and British. So you have curry powder straws, Konkani fried chicken, crunchy Okra, kebabs, spicy meat devilled Scotch eggs, railway curry, Shepherd’s pie and a lovely chicken cashew cutlet. The dessert menu is full of typical English fare such as creme brulee and bread pudding. The bar menu is over 20 pages long and in addition to your regular brews and straight liquor, there are some really interesting cocktails like the Anglow Spice (Scotch, orange zest, blueberries, spices) and the Coffee Train (whisky with coffee). Bookmark this for date night or some other special occasion.

Baar Baar
You can look at it as a sort of Tapas bar. The food is a good mix of popular bar foods with an Indian twist (they’ve done this with drinks too. Case in point the Kairi Mule, a Moscow Mule with an addition of raw mango). To nibble on, you have Churros, Jackfruit Tacos, Kashmiri Duck Kulcha, Edamame Corn Bhel, sliders with masala fries, Bheja Pate (not making this up), Keema Shepherd’s Pie, Tandoori Pork Belly, Chapli Burger to name a few.
The gin-based Leh Berry Collins and the Badaam Lassi, the Somras are all cocktails worth trying. Even the Old Delhi special Daulat Ki Chaat makes an appearance here.

Sly Granny
Not exactly brand new but anything less than a year old is a baby, right? Sly Granny opened up in the same spot where Route 04 used to be. Spread over two floors, the interiors are both kitschy and grand. Go here for both the artisanal cocktails and the plates. Their gin and tonic (which they call Posh G&T) is a beautiful affair of g&t, peppercorns, juniper berries, lemon peels and lots of other things). They also have a very extensive wine list - both by glass and bottle. You can pair this with a B&T (bread and tomato) whilst you decide on your mains.
Their burger and pasta are both well done but it might be worth trying some of their more unique dishes: Ciopinno, Biscuits & Gravy (this one’s with pork sausages), or the Roast Lamb. Need something sweet? The Panookie (cookie in a pan) is a popular pick.
