One thing that I have learnt in my marriage is that I need to be a con artist at times to get my husband to buy me expensive jewels. It is not very hard but it is a lot of fun. I felt like I was watching myself on screen with the hunky Abhishek Bachchan in Bunty Aur Babli, (sorry Rani, even I have been waiting in line!). The film was a mega blockbuster and it would not be wrong to say that it attained cult status amongst cinema-goers. Who can forget the Sasur-Bahu-Pati’s item dance! It was one of the first item songs of mid 2000s and soon started a trend that is still followed. Hats off to Kajra Re! So, imagine my delight when I came to know that the makers of Bunty Aur Babli are planning a sequel, a full 14 years later!

While speculations are rife that Abhishek and Rani are reprising their roles, there are also rumours of another lead pair joining them, possibly actors from the younger generation. Who do you think could bring chutzpah to their roles?! I’d bet my heavy gold bricks on Varun and Alia! The good news is that the director of the film will still remain the same. I am very excited about this! Maybe this time I can learn some new tricks from the makers themselves! Meow!
