I’m a sucker for jewellery and the more unique it is, the better. Obviously. And what’s more unique than making your own? Before you get a panic attack, let me clarify I don't mean actually melting and molding your metal, but just playing designer, a little bit. If that's got your ears perked up, you're going to like Pipa Bella’s ‘Create Your Own Jewellery’ section; I legit felt butterflies which I thought had long died and turned to ash.
Even though I’d vowed to get over my oniomania, I found myself perusing each category in great detail. They have some basic, edgy designs in sterling silver where you can choose the colour of the metal, the gemstone (there’s blue topaz, red garnet, green tourmaline among others) and whether you want it gold plated or not. Pretty neat if you have a clear preference for silver over gold or the other way round. Taking personalisation to a new level, you can also get your name (or someone else’s name; no judgements here) on a ring, bracelet or a pendant; in English or Hindi.
But what I was personally charmed by is their.. charm jewellery. They’ve come with itty bitty charms in different shapes such as elephants, wine glasses, crown, stilettos, pizza slice, yoga icons and of course, the Om sign. You can pile on a bunch of these onto hoop earrings, bracelets, necklaces and anklets and end up with a piece of jewellery which reflects your personality. These can be the perfect gift too (unless you’re scouring for a gift last minute- very bad!)
Oh and before I forget, if you’re pro mangalsutras, they’ll personalise them too, in 18k gold. With your spouse’s name or both your initials. They’ve got a bracelet version too.
