Beyond The Usual: 5 Coffees Every Caffeine Monster Must Try At Least Once
Caffeine it up!Caffeine addiction is real. No this isn’t a post about how you should give it up and substitute it with mysterious green juice. But about feeding the addiction. Mmm. We all have our preferences when it comes to our daily cuppa (espresso con panna, amirite?) but once in a while, you’ve got to take the road less traveled and let something new in. Here are some types of coffees I occasionally sip on to switch things up.

Cheese Coffee

Cheese coffee is relatively new phenomenon in India. Don’t go envisioning blocks of Amul cheese in a goblet of espresso - eww! So cheese coffee is essentially a glass full of chilled espresso/cold brew topped with a generous amount of mascarpone cheese and if you want, a sprinkle of cocoa. Think of it as liquid tiramisu. With a higher caffeine kick.

Coffee Tonic

It works exactly like a G&T where the gin is replaced with cold brew/chilled espresso. The result is intense with a little bit of tang to it. Don’t forget to add lots of ice to your glass. And if you’re not at work (or even if you are, who are we to judge?), pour some gin or even rum/whisky into the mix.

This one takes a little long to prep but is pretty easy peasy to make. You have to infuse your coffee with fruits (strawberries, grapes and oranges work best) in the brewing stage. This works best with the cold brew method, obviously. You can later add wine and brandy to it or keep it virgin, as per your taste.

Coconut Water Coffee

Need to hydrate but also need to wake up? This is a shortcut to achieving both these morning goals. There’s no set proportions for this recipe; just experiment and see what works for you. Personally, I prefer more coconut water than cold brew as the coffee tends to overshadow the coconutty taste.

PS: The Coffee Bond also does a coffee + orange juice drink, which serves pretty much the same purpose.
Butter Coffee

Ever thought of adding butter in your coffee? Me neither. It all began in Old Delhi in Chitli Qabar where Moinuddin set up a small stall and started blending coffee with butter. He starts with a jug of sugary, milky coffee, adds slabs of Amul butter and then “steams” it with his own version of an espresso machine. The result is a creamy, buttery, sweet and salty coffee. If you can salt your caramel, why not this?
Bulletproof coffee is now all the rage in the US, and apparently (if the internet is to be believed), was inspired from this. But for this version, you’re going to have to get ghee and brain octane oil from Amazon.
Unfortunately though, we hear that Moinuddin doesn’t sit at his spot anymore :( but do comment and tell us if you find him!
